So far I have really enjoyed this game. The gameplay is simple and fun and the gacha mechanic doesn't feel as predatory as is normal with these kinds of games. The art style is also really amazing, easily my favorite part of the game. We'll see if anything changes overtime but as of right now this is a really good game and I hope the devs keep making good decisions.
Definitely a refreshing take on an "Idle" style story game. The completely unique take on the equipment/gear attribute of the game is incredible in my opinion and I definitely think it's worth a shot if your looking for a new and fun game that doesn't require a ton of attention.
It's too soon to comment on the long term gameplay and monetization of the game, but the early experience is top notch, with some very pleasant mechanics for a gacha. For example, you don't level individual characters but 5 character slots. A character has the same level as the slot it's put in, meaning that team comps can be changed and tested freely, without needing to level each individual character. There is a similar system for character equipment.
Overall the game is great, it's simple enough that anyone can get into it. F2P is completely possible but will slow down progress and you'll have to prioritize meta comps more. The open world is nice but I wish there were enemy respawns once a week or something b/c once you completed the campaign it's very empty. Overall think it's a good game, just needs some slight improvements, but still highly recommend.
AFK Journey has streamlined many of the things that are most annoying in the modern rpg. Leveling progression is satisfying and quick, storyline battles don't take forever, and you don't have to worry about separately leveling armor until much later. The storyline is interesting, with familiar characters from AFK Arena making a comeback and really getting fleshed out, and the artwork is just beautiful.
Graphics, artwork, music, gameplay, responsiveness of the developers... this game is 10 out of 10. This is the first app I've ever screen recorded the music for since it helps me sleep at night.
For me I really like this game. The art, the game mechanic is suitable for me who has a busy work schedule. I've encountered some issues and bug before but it already has been fixed rather fast. If you like to collecting heroes then this game for you. In my first week I already have several couple S rank heroes. Also other things that I like about this game is that I can upgrade low tiers heroes and put any of them into my favourite team. But it can take a while though to find and upgrade them.
