Welcome to the thrilling world of RISK! In this article, we'll dive deep into the strategy board game that has captured the imaginations of players worldwide. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a curious newcomer, we have something for you.

Introduction to RISK

RISK is not just a game; it's a battle of wits, strategy, and diplomacy. Created by Hasbro, this classic board game challenges players to conquer territories, build armies, and outsmart opponents. But what makes RISK so irresistible?

The Origins of RISK

Did you know RISK has been around since 1957? It was invented by French filmmaker Albert Lamorisse and has undergone several transformations since. This timeless game has stood the test of time, evolving with its players.

How to Play RISK

Are you ready to conquer the world? Here's a quick guide:

  • Objective: Dominate the world by capturing all territories.
  • Setup: Each player starts with a set number of territories and armies.
  • Gameplay: Players take turns to reinforce, attack, and fortify territories.
  • Winning: The last player standing wins the game.

Strategies for Success

Winning at RISK requires more than just luck. Here are some strategies to help you rise to the top:

Plan Your Conquests

Don't just attack randomly. Identify weak spots and focus on capturing entire continents for bonus reinforcements.

Balance Offense and Defense

While aggression can be rewarding, don't neglect your defenses. Secure your borders to prevent counterattacks.

Diplomacy is Key

Form alliances and negotiate truces. Remember, today's ally could be tomorrow's enemy.

I've only been playing five or six hours straight- not my intention for this evening BTW- but I have no problem rating RISK five stars. I'm a big fan of the board game, so enjoy seeing how the developers tackle transitioning it to a video game, nicely done. It moves quickly, love the variety of maps, AI computer is sufficiently challenging, and of course, they had to squeeze a zombie element in there, lol. Really like the WW1 scenario with Allies vs. Germany, etc. Love it, thanks!

Great game. Bots a bit stupid even on strongest setting. Great maps! They should have badges for every map concurred. Play like a kid again!

Not sure why the app is rated so low - the game is fantastic with performance, pay-scheme (you won't ever have to pay if you don't want) and gameplay. The original gamemodes and maps are super fun and Blitz dice rolling really speeds up games. My only complaint is that the AI/bots aren't that great but you can always play online with others. 10/10, would recommend

I used to play Risk on EAs Pogo site back in the day. This is an excellent replacement of that version. The things I can complain about are two things. Most items are locked behind a pay wall which sucks. Although they are mainly cosmetic except for new boards. The other issue is that ads can be skipped but some of them make the X so small that you will end up clicking on their game and being sent to the play store multiple times. However, this may be an issue with the advertisers and not Risk.

Very intuitive controls easy gameplay and good graphics. Not challenging enough. Expert mode is a no brainer. Unsure if a computer AI can have algorithms complex enough to calculate when to make risky menuevers. AI does not occupy territories in response to opponents. Strategies are very simplistic. Two soldier occupation of each random territory in the beginning wont cut it. If this can be fixxed you have an outstanding game.

Very well done... The app saves and restores the current game so you can resume play even if your device crashes or runs out of battery (but it doesn't track my wins/losses... Perhaps that only works if you have the Google games app installed?). There are several settings to speed up the game--though my favorite is not supported (deal out the cards evenly, and place your starting armies only on countries you were dealt).

The classic board game, but better. More maps, faster dice, and different play options make it well worth dropping a few bucks to unlock extra content. They are also great about adding maps to existing packs and if you purchased that pack already, the map just shows up for you. I would love to see some of the licenced variants, like Star Wars, or Lord of the Rings, as they have different rules. The Risk Legacy stuff would be great too, but the game is still great without it.

Edit: Game is amazing and best when played with friends. Only issue I have is thst my account doesn't seem to have the old-school limited dice or other items for having an old account. Other then that 10/10 still play years later.

The online mode against other players is great and lots of fun. The AI playing the computer needs work though...too easy to beat. However lately the game goes to Lost Connection mode "always" when I about to win. It comes back, but won't let me add troops or attack. Then I lose and my ranking drops. Very upsetting. Also reported colluders, which are so blantant, are NEVER dealt with. A too high % of games involves collusion sometimes involving more than 2 players a game.
